Hammet Research Foundation

Every child deserves a futurethey helped build.

We fund and scale access to AI literacy for Nigerian secondary school students — with a deliberate focus on the learners the digital economy is most likely to overlook: girls, students in rural and low-resource schools, learners with disabilities, and children from displaced and underserved communities.

Our mission

The gap we're closing.

Nigeria has one of the youngest populations on earth, and one of the widest gaps in access to the skills that will define the next economy. Most secondary school students will graduate having never written a line of code, trained a model, or been taught how artificial intelligence actually works — not because they lack ability, but because the opportunity has never reached their classroom.

The Hammet Research Foundation exists to close that gap: funding AI literacy education for students in under-resourced schools, with a deliberate focus on the learners the digital economy is most likely to leave out — girls, students in rural and low-resource communities, learners with disabilities, and children displaced by conflict or hardship.

Our programs

How we work.

Four programs, one goal: put every Nigerian secondary school student within reach of the skills that will define the next economy.

Regional AI Camps

After-term intensive camps hosted at partner universities, bringing hands-on AI training to students who would otherwise never access it.

Digital Passport Credentialing

A portable, verifiable record of every skill a student masters — recognition that travels with them beyond the classroom.

Inclusion in AI Initiative

Targeted funding and mentorship pathways for girls, learners with disabilities, and students in rural and displaced communities — getting them into AI and technology from secondary school, before the gap forms.

School & Ministry Partnerships

Working directly with schools and education ministries to embed AI literacy into the systems students already move through.

Partners

Who we work with.

We partner with universities, secondary schools, ministries of education, and mission-aligned funders who share a belief that AI literacy shouldn't be a privilege reserved for the few.
